Quiet Craftsmanship

Today I received the birthday gift I prepared for my wife.

A cordovan long wallet from Tsuchiya Kaban, a Japanese leather craftsmanship brand.

Cordovan leather is polished to a mirror-like finish, giving the surface a deep and refined shine.
Holding it in hand, you can immediately feel why Japanese leather craftsmanship is so widely admired.

There is no oversized logo, and no excessive design.
Just materials, craftsmanship, and proportions executed with quiet precision.

Some things in life are like this—
the simpler they appear, the more mastery they require.

And one of the most charming things about fine leather goods is this:
time does not make them old; it makes them more beautiful.
